You call that a sale?!

Boxing day sales...the day I've been looking forward to for I don't even know how long!!

Totally disappointed though!!

The sales here are just...just...its not a sale!!

Went shopping at Macy's, Bloomingdales, Soho...all the well known and big stores...but only bought 1 thing...1 thing...how sad is that?! And it was at the end of the day too...sigh...

I guess I got to see the shops though...but still!!

Anyway...the sales here weren't great...as in not very many things were discounted, and the things that were weren't even discounted that much...!!

Plus...its kinda bad coz with everything that you see/buy, taxes need to be added...so the price you see isn't actually the price you pay!! Kinda learning the slow way but I'll get there eventually!!

Anyway...hoping for better luck along the way...maybe the sales in the west will be better?! A bit of wishful thinking here...!!

Merry Christmas!

Christmas in New York...

not what I envisioned but still way way cool!!

Didn't get my white christmas...apparently it was snowing a few days before I arrived but since then, it just hasn't been cold ENOUGH for it to continue...instead, its been raining!! doh!!

Went to mass on sunday morning...it was so packed you wouldn't believe...services every hour...people standing in every possible nook and cranny...the very grand and old church just crammed with WAY too many people...

Then went to TGIF for lunch!! I must say that the TGI's in melb is way way better though!! hehe

then STARBUCKS...its not true though...there ISN'T one on every corner!! There are a lot but it just seems that every time you want one, you can't find one, and every time you don't want one, they're everywhere!!

Anyway so it was 2 things crossed off my list of "things to eat" in America...!!

Saw King Kong...I must say, its kinda cool watching movies in America coz as soon as you walk out of the cinemas after watching King Kong die on top of the Empire State Building, you can actually see the building...WOW! haha

Anyway...that was my christmas...hanging out with friends from Melb and across the globe...totally awesome!!

To everyone back home...MERRY CHRISTMAS!! Hope you have a good one with heaps of great food and carolling!! Party hard and live life...wish you all were here!!

New York here I come!!

Christmas Eve...1:05pm...get on the plane in melbourne bracing and mentally preparing myself for the 24.5 hour journey ahead...only thing keeping me going is that after this monster of a plane ride, I still get to NY in time for christmas!!

Get to the airport, check in without any dramas...after all what could possibly go wonrg with my 2 almost completely empty suitcases?! Had been previously warned by Ben to pack light and only bring 1 jumper as I would be doing a lot of shopping!! Board the plane...get the seats that I had previously reserved, settle down, and before I know it, I'm in sydney...time to get off...wait for a couple of hours in the airport...but thats cool - coz I still have my phone so I sms people, call people...walk around and check out the international terminal...and its finally time to board again!! Actually, I almost missed my flight from Sydney to LA coz I was so busy talking on the phone I didn't hear the final boarding call..I mean I saw everyone get up to leave but I figured I still had time...and before I knew it, everyone had disappeared so I literally ran to the gate and found out that I was pretty much the last to get on!! hehe...ok not so funny at the time but its pretty funny now!!

Anyway its a LONG flight to LA and when I got off, I had to go pick up my luggage and get everything checked again before I left from LA to NY. Its here that I think I got black marked coz I fiogured I didn't need to declare the apple I brought off the plane...I mean afterall, it was from the USA so why did I have to declare it?! hehe anyway I tried walking through the green line but got caught by this guy who asked me 50 million questions and I then got directed to the red line where I had to lug all my bags on to the belt to be scanned. Of course they found the apple and I had to explain that I had taken it from the plane etc etc..they then asked for my passprt and scanned it and typed all this stuff into the computer...this is why I believe I got black-marked!! Anyway...I gave them the stupid apple and went on my way...

Boarded the plane for NY...arrived...tried to put on my shoes and collect my bag but - hang on a minute...my feet wouldn't fit into my shoes!! They had swelled so much that they just would not fit!! haha...so I slid them half on and stumbled to collect my luggage... walked out...it was cold!! All these people kept asking me if I needed a lift and I had to tell them no...but after waiting an hour, Ben had still not arrived to pick me up and the same people were still looking at me wondering if I really DID need a lift so I had to keep smiling and shake my head at them!! Finally, Ben arrived...actually, he kinda stumbled across me sitting in the corner on my suitcase looking around and trying to look occupied with myself!! I didn't recognise him!! haha...just heard someone yell out my name and I looked up and he was standing there kinda looking at me going...what are you doing?!

Anyway after the whole hello thing, we had a 3 hour subway ride to tackle...and I mean tackle...had no idea where we were going...took the wrong line numerous times...missed the subway so had to wait for absolutely ages!! And finally, we reached the christmas house party...me in my travelling clothes meeting all his friends...what a site!! haha

So that was my trip to new york...more to come!!

Update upon update...

Its been a really busy and hectic past couple of weeks...this is my "very brief" update of the last 14 days...

Thursday 1 December:
Shopping and self-control - IMPOSSIBLE!! Saw this really cool bag diesel bag I could easily lug around New York with me...sigh...but restrained myself!! Pity its the only thing I can think of now!! Why are all the shops having sales now?! Stop tempting me!!

Massage at Geisha...went WAY too quickly...but was absolutely fantastic!! Came out feeling like a million bucks!! So totally relaxed and pampered...if only I felt like this 24/7!!

Streetlife - great workout lugging the bags of bread up and down the stairs...!! Then cleaning my fingerprints off Steve's car!! hehe sorry dude...but at least I got rid of most of them!! Even the ones that weren't mine!!

Conversation topic: can you say no if someone asks you to be their bridesmaid?

Friday 2 December:
Gym membership expires - I calculated that it would have been cheaper for me to pay everytime I used it rather than signing a membership...sigh...oh well - its the thought that counts!!

Dinner with Ann at Papa Ginos!! Then starbucks - babe remember you want to get your hot chocolate WITH cream - it tastes better!! A flurry of chatter, sharing, scheming plans, laughter - scheduling our next "double date + 1"!! hehe..."just wait 'til you see his opera thing!!"

Saturday 3 December:
Shopping on chapel - sorry Ben but I used your oxford card! - then revived the body by stuffing my face at yum cha with the parents!! Followed by more shopping - finally bought all my winter stuff to take over to New York, my camping gear and a whole lot of other random useless stuff like locks, chargers, drink bottles!! Ben stop laughing - its really not that funny - we're gonna FREEZE!!

Sunday 4 December:
BBQ at Yoj's - with the flies!! hmmm...I wonder where they go in winter?!!

Monday 5 December:
G man turns 20!! Larry and I plan the PERFECT surprise...only for it to have a "not-so-perfect" outcome!! hehe but fun all the same - family pack at nandos and TWO heavenly cakes from crown!! Who's complaining?!!

Tuesday 6 December:
SLEEP!!

Wednesday 7 December:
Work christmas luncheon - sooo sooo full!! Buffets and me just don't go well together!!

Then a long-awaited KK exchange and drinks at Cookie!! Very cool!!

Friday 9 December:
Aaron the "high-flyer" shouts dinner at Sarti then gets us a table at Florentinos for dessert!! Sticky date pudding to die for!!

Saturday 10 December:
Gave my body a good work out today - got a phone call from my bro telling me his eye was bleeding...shock horror - heart palpitations!! Then its my fingers smsing continually...followed by my brain being racked of what to do next. My mouth talking a hundred words a minute...my legs running up and down the stairs...my mind in a frenzy...

At night its publicity + drinks = Justin and Sylvia...Alex and some chick with curls, Jesse, Joy, Michelle and me!!

Sunday 11 December:
Turns out my 20 minute powernap turned into a 6 hour sleep!! Wake up at 9pm, DVD fest with my cousins, then back to bed...oh what a feeling...!! Recommend watching monster-in-law!! Larry you still owe me - I still have all those DVD's from Sungei Wang you know!! haha no escaping!

Monday 12 December:
Sinking in very quickly that I'm running out of time!! Heading to USA in less than 2 weeks and I haven't planned ANYTHING except my flight there and back...I think I'm dead!! I KNOW I'm dead!!

Tuesday 13 December:
VCE results celebrations - toasts to my cousin, the braniac! This guy scored a big fat 99.95 even though he spent the last few weeks before exams in and out of hospital with a broken arm and attending surgery after surgery!! He even had to TYPE his exams since he couldn't write!!

Also get a call from the infamous Joh telling me shes on her way to the airport - 10 DAYS EARLY!! You suck!!

Realise I've been sending emails to the wrong people!! For some reason when I press reply I don't reply to the sender but to other random people! Its bad - and embarrassing - and theres no way to stop it!!

And to top it all off...diaries on sunday had 25% and I thought I'd wait until this new week to buy one just in case they had more discount on them...but NOOOO...low and behold - they're back to FULL PRICE!! How does that work?! NOT IMPRESSED!! Actually, kinda DE-PRESSED!!

Surprise Surprise - get a call from G Man - whos sick and has been going to the toilet over 10 times a day!! hehe

Food glorious food!!

I am so full...full to overflowing...so full I feel like I'm about to burst...and thats really saying something!!

Been eating so much its just incredible...kinda disgusting when I think about it...but how can you resist? I think its the whole asian mentality thing to "get your money's worth" whenever you go to a buffet...so when we went to Melba Brasserie in Southbank on Sunday night, everyone fulfilled and lived up to the "asian" inside - except for me!!

I wasn't really in the mood after stuffing my face at Sarah's surprise birthday party...but it totally wasn't my fault...

Larry, Vince and Steve were taking SO long to decide what they wanted to do that in the end, I just kept eating..and eating...and eating...which kinda worked out really well because in the end they decided NOT to go for lunch and to go SHOPPING instead...not that I was complaining...

Its a rare occasion when guys wanna go shopping...so I was pretty impressed that there was no whinging (except for Steve complaining that his feet were hurting even though he was wearing "flats"...Steve seriously - think about the pain that us girls go through!) and that we pretty much saw all that we wanted to...

However...first let down...Kathmandu's sale only started THIS friday...so we didn't get to buy what we wanted...gotta wait a WHOLE WEEK!!

Second let down...no sizes left on sale items at mountain designs...

Third let down...no sale on items WITH sizes at mountain designs...

sigh...

Anyway - so back to the eating...7 of us went for the buffet and totally pigged out...like no joke...pigged out big time...then we had a "couch" session...moved to the bar/lounge area and had a time of "letting it all out"...everything that had been kept hidden for the last 7 years...yep - thats right...the last SEVEN YEARS!! Was pretty funny - hearing about all the "lightbulb" and "third wheel" people...or "facilitators" as we chose to call them...

Hearing about all the "prayers" that were answered - or NOT answered...and the "sacrificing" of bus tickets during holidays so that certain people could be together...and so others DIDN'T have to be together...

all in all it was a real eye-opener...nothing was left unmentioned...it was great - I mean, at least it was great for me coz I wasn't involved...I just sat there and listened...and laughed...hmmm...!! But yeah...its great now...7 years later...but we all know that 7 years ago it was far from that!!
Anyway...back to the food...

So tonight, again...went for the buffet...totally stuffed...can't move...had to change outta my jeans as soon as I walked through the front door...I feel uncomfortable...I wonder if theres any quick remedy...somebody help me!! Not good...I definitely made up for sunday's lack of action...probably shouldn't have....totally regretting it now - but its too late...oh well...passionfruit cheesecake...chocolate mousse...creme brulee...creme caramel...panna cotta...the list goes on and on...

Was so totally engrossed in the food that I forgot to take photos of the it...so heres whats left...but trust me...it looked better before I started!!

I have NO idea what Daniel was doing to this cantelope - something about coating it in sugar...??!!

Chris and Yuli before...

And after... (yep thats right...stretch it out!)

Its all grins before...

But not after...

Anyway...you get the point...eat in moderation...as much as possible - New Year's resolution number 1!!

Share & care...

Had a share & care session tonight...on the beach...St. Kilda...30 degrees...my 2 cousins and 'lil old me!!

what more could you want?!

Theres something so special about sitting down on the pier with a bottle of juice and chatting...catching up on the last few months...talking...laughing...gossiping...taking a stroll (yes ok...a stroll..not a run) along the pavement...breeze through the hair...its was just fabulous...

Haven't seen Dan & Matt in ages...but tonight's catch up session made up for lost time...

Really miss our "cousin meetings"...we use to have these cousin gatherings at pancake parlour in Doncaster...I'd have to say it was more of a grilling session...each cousin in turn would get questioned about absolutely anything and everything...it was like being in the box on law & order...kinda scary...but kinda fun at the same time!! It was a time where you could ask a question and get a straight answer...hmmm...or maybe NO answer at all...a time of consulting each other on difficult situations...a time of obtaining a different opinion on pressing issues...a time of getting another aspect on life...a time of just hanging out and having fun...

Really miss those days...I guess with age we all grow up and move on...make a lot of decisions ourselves...think we know the answer to all the questions...but the beauty of it is that family sticks together and theres always room for coming back to a place of sharing & caring...

Another 3 pages....

Joy's been wanting to go shopping at DFO for a while now so we planned our trip out to Cheltenham today...little did I know it would be so far...a whole 1 hour and 15 mins far!!

I drove...and drove...and drove...and by the time Joy reached there (half an hour late)...I still had another 3 pages to drive!!

But thats not the worst...the worst thing is that after driving the whole way there...I bought 1 birthday card, a strawberries & cream ice-chocolate from Gloria Jeans and an oreo cookies ice-cream from some ice-cream shop...and THAT'S IT...nothing more...nothing less...

Kinda walked out of there thinking...NO WAY...that was sooo not worth it...

The only other thing that I saw and thought of buying was this Oroton black leather briefcase. It was a pretty good buy - $800 reduced to $400...but then I saw another one for $300...I couldn't believe it...2 of the exact same bag with one being $100 cheaper than the other!! Quickly called Joy over and asked for a second opinion on the bag...was so excited...until she pointed out that they were actually different...in the 2 seconds it took for her to show me that, it was all over red rover!! The extra $100 made all the difference and I just couldn't buy it...sigh...

The only thing that keeps me going...I've got another $400 to spend in America!! Yeah baby yeah...!!

Joy - you did pretty well though...hmm...good buy on those presents!! Guess we didn't need to hide the tops at Portmans afterall huh?! And no...I really don't think you should buy a bottle of water on card!! Plus - I WON THE BET!! haha

Alex - we missed you...thanks for helping me sort of win the bet!! We know you too well...!! Theres always next time...!!

Thats what friends are for...

I finished exams last Thursday, but my study buddy doesn't finish until Friday...and because I'm so NICE, I went to the library today to give "moral support", "encouragement" and "company"...as well as lollies...!!

However, the day totally didn't turn out as I expected...

Got to the library, said hello to all my poor little friends still studying, then pulled out my book to read...shortly after, one of my very talkative friends arrived and sat down...we ended up chatting for the next half an hour...

During this time, one of my study buddy's very talkative friends also arrived and sat down...and they ended up talking for the next half an hour...

Seeing that the 2 of us were clearly not going to get anything done, I walked away and messaged my study buddy...

However, at the same time as I was messaging him, he was messaging me...

we both needed saving...!!

I walked back to the desk and said I had to go...blaming it on him and his need to get home and study for his last exam...as expected, he blamed his packing up and leaving on me...our plan backfired though...as per usual...

why is that?! Things never seem to work out as we plan!!

Anyway...the beauty of it is that I have friends on whom I can depend...there to save me in times of trouble...stick up for me when the going gets tough...be a shoulder, or 2, to cry on and a pillar to lean on...thats what friends are for and I'm so thankful I've been blessed with one like you!!

Bon Voyage!

Today has been a catching up day...

Catching up with people who are going away for summer...those who are going to other countries with the sole intention of just eating and shopping and totally partying and living it up...those who are gonna sleep and sleep...and sleep...

Its quite daunting thinking about how quickly time flies...it seems like just last month when I was holidaying in Singapore...making plans for 2005...scheduling parties, and dinners, and nights out in town...and now - its all passed...

and we're sitting down making plans for the next year...and what we're gonna do...and where...and when...and how...

But its gonna be different...because Neuman won't be here...he'll be on exchange in San Diego for a semester, partying over there...having dinners and suppers and drinks on the other side of the world!! Dude - have a blast - make the most of it...party hard...and study hard too!! We definitely have to catch up when you get back - in the mean time keep me posted...and start blogging again!! haha

And Matt - I can't believe you're going!! sob sob sob...its definitely gonna be different without you here - I really think you should get a return ticket - its only another $200 more!! Gonna miss you heaps but take care...email me and remember our DEAL!! haha

A (suprise) birthday to remember...

OMG!! Who would have thought...?? A bunch of girls and guys...standing in their PJs...in the rain...holding a "happy birthday" sign...for ME!!

Suprise Suprise...I was totally NOT expecting anyone to be at my house...let alone standing on my front lawn waiting to suprise me on my birthday (minus 1 day!)

Was tricked into coming home to "change" out of my work clothes into something more "appropriate" for a good night out at transit...was sooo looking forward to checking out this new bar that had opened up at fed square - the maze of lounges...the fountain...the November issue of The Age magazine had produced the most appealing and perfect write-up ever of this new lounge...

finished exams on Thursday arvo...messaged everyone that night informing them of my birthday/end of exams celebration that would take place the next evening...very few replies from a few people saying that they would be there...thought everyone else would just turn up...

was gonna come home after work to change and get ready, except that Larry had called earlier to meet up for after-exam drinks...I agreed...would be pretty cool getting a head start on everyone...!! So called my dad to pack some clothes for me and bring them down to the city so that I could get changed...he was kinda lost...didn't understand what I wanted...I didn't understand what he didn't understand about what I wanted...!! Asked him to go to my closet and take out each item as I described it to him...but in the middle of it all he got a "very important phone call and would have to call me back"...ok...that was cool...

In the mean time, I arrived at fed square to find Larry and Vince waiting outside...we walked into the crowd and headed towards the bar...started the "stress-relief session" but after an hour of midori/cranberry mixes and Larry's great performance - HALF a sip of beez kneez beer and a quick rush to the toilet to let it all out...I was told that him, Vince and Jo (who had arrived a bit earlier) had a 21st to attend...

That was fine - I was happy to go get a coffee for an hour whilst waiting for everyone else to arrive...didn't really see the point in going ALL the way home then having to come ALL the way back out into the city again...but Vince INSISTED on driving me home since his party was in Balwyn and I was in Donny...inside I really didn't see the point in him dropping me home then driving back out to Balwyn but he wouldn't let it go so I agreed...

Called my dad - who incidentally hadn't called me back - and told him that he didn't need to bring my clothes because I would be going home afterall...

we trammed back to Arrow to get Vince's car and he started the drive...complaining all the way that he was getting high from all the "alcohol air" that was circulating around the car...!! haha good one Vince!!

Now this is where the juicy part of the story begins...the 3 of them are going to this guy called JON WEE's 21st birthday party in Balwyn...hes hot...like MAJORLEY hot...he has bigger muscles than Larry...mmmm...he has this thing for Jo...Larry and Vince are gonna take photos for me so I can check out Jo's new guy...Jon and Jo's kids are gonna be called "Jo-wee" (pronounced as joey!)...I'm pretty excited...!! I think Jo is too!! Not only is her face red, but her neck and back too!! Talk about getting fired up!! haha (ok ok Jo...I lied...you WERE pretty red...but don't worry...it kinda suited your singlet! haha...kinda!)

So all the way back to my place they're adding to this story - making this Jon Wee guy out to be some majorley FANTASTIC stud...-pretty good story guys...I'll give ya that!!-

We finally get to my place...and I see all these cars outside my house...hmmm...don't really think anything of it...Vinve drives into my car port and I see the mass of people on my lawn...kinda takes a while to register, but it FINALLY does...

SUPRISE...!!

everyone runs into the house before I'm out of the car...thats cool - I mean, afterall it IS raining!!

I'm asking Jo, Larry and Vince about their 21st...its a fake...WHAT? you mean theres no JON WEE - HUNK...guy with huge muscles....NOOOO!! No photos? even BIGGER NNNOOOOO!!!

I get inside and am presented with PJ's that I have to change into - its a PJ slumber party!! hehe WOO-HOO!! How much FUN!! Food...alcohol...chocolate...KFC!! BRILLIANT!!

I get dressed into my new Peter Alexander PJs and come downstairs...everyone is talking all at once...everyone KNEW about the "no-transit" party...everyone except ME, that is!! No wonder no-one replied my sms's properly - instead of telling me either yes, I'll be there, or no, I wont...it was kinda like...yeah...tomorrows an excuse to celebrate (Sue-Lee)...hmmm...we haven't all finished exams (Ann)...

but OH NO...I remember...I also have to start smsing people to tell them that Transit is off...it was a hoax...I was fooled!!

Am presented with a drink blended by the newly trained ET!! We eat...I have to guess what my birthday cake is...hmmm...ice-cream cake...that wasnt too hard...but of what? I get to ask yes/no questions and for every "no" question" I ask I have to drink...this is NOT looking good...I finally guessed Bob the Builder...but even though I was right, Matt quickly said I was wrong!! So here I go again...guessing away...drinking more...feel so ripped off when I'm finally told I'm right!!

We play around with the candles...light up Bob's eyes...and other places...!! Cut the cake...probably not in the most flattering place either but it was funny!!

Play games...taboo is SO much more fun when everyone's feeling a little crazy...get a box full of little presents - have to guess who gave me what!!

Thanks Steph...vegemite marinated meat during schoolies...ewwww...couldn't guess coz I blocked it from my mind it was so gross!! haha
Mary - sunscreen...don't worry - i've learnt my lesson - it WILL be gone by the end of summer...
Jen - black celica...you're one CRAZY girl...haha but thanks all the same!! kinda...hmmm...maybe...yeah I guess so!! haha
ET - Stacy Orrico...track number 11...backwards run baby!! haha
Cat - vitamins...and my black PJ jumper - you're the funniest!! Hope you liked the holes!! They're "man-made"!! haha
Joh - tweezers...haha I'm trying!! And Brissie photos...haha...look at us...those were the days!!

Guys it was actually quite hard trying to guess, believe it or not!! THANKS!!

Then its time for a boogie..."er double up er er!!" haha enough said!!

Mum and Ben call...yeah!! You guys timed it perfectly!! SO perfectly that you both called at exactly the same time...but looks like Ben edged in a second earlier!! haha

Its midnight...I get off the phone...get the biggest happy birthday song ever...and I've officially hit the big 2-3!! THANKS GUYS...you ROCK!!

most DEFINITELY a BIRTHDAY TO REMEMBER!!

-photos to come-

Me head is hitting the keyboard!!

Friday morning...can't MOVE - literally...SOOO need sleep...

My sleeping schedule is sooooo warped...its kinda been hit my bed at around 3am after studying, wake up at around 10am the next morning only to eat and start the study cycle again...how absolutely BORING and NOT exciting!!

But its over...at least until the next set of exams come around...thank goodness...

But its Friday - and I have to go to work...my alarm went off and the first thing that I thought of was..."nooo...(like as in the longest NOOOO ever; refer: Russell Peters)... you've GOT to be joking!! it can't be 6:50am ALREADY!" Pick up the phone...call Matt for a lift into work...don't think I can possibly drive...my eyes won't stay open!!

Hear the same thing from Matt...looks like hes "snoozed" his alarm clock as well...SO want to take a sickie!! But might look a bit dodgy since I took last Friday off as well...so its time to get up...jump into the shower...get ready for work...sigh...BIG sigh...

Get to work...my "in tray" is piled high...start sorting through the paper and files...oh as well as my inbox!! hehe...reply all my emails first - afterall, its all about priorities right?! hehe

Call Steve..."STEVE...are you still sleeping? Get up! Its already 10am! meet me for lunch!"
Steve is just like - "LIZ! Its so EARLY! what time is lunch? What - 12?! Can't you go later?"
I'm like..."hmm...I can go earlier! hehe but get up already?! Do you know what time I got up? I'm sooo tired...I can't move...my head it hitting the keyboard" (personal joke)
Steves like..."haha...haha...head - keyboard...haha...yeah ok...I'll come...looks like I should get ready now"
me: "yep...see you soon"
hang up...1 hour and 57 mins til lunch!

Went to this little jap place which is always packed...got this really good teriyaki chicken with rice and Steve got this ....fried chicken thing with rice...forgot what it was called....then we went to see the POSTIE and it was back to work...my 1 hour lunch break goes sooo quickly...I don't know how people can get only half an hour to eat...would be the biggest rush ever!!

Larry calls...hes just finished exams...asks me to go for drinks...I'm at work...sooo not a possibility...doh...so we decide to meet for drinks at transport after work instead...looking forward to that...haven't been out since...hmmm....a LONG time...

meanwhile...its back to work...

Let the good times roll...

Woo-hoo!!

Exams are over...OVER I say...let the good times roll!!

FINALLY...after 2 weeks of serious cramming - I'm free...to do what I want...any old time...and it feels GREAT!!

Kinda been surviving on packets and packets of starbursts, lindt chocolate...and gelati outings!! ET you're the best!! it was absolutely great...but I'm also seeing the effects...guess it wasn't in moderation afterall huh?! hehe

Probably should start heading back to the gym...I think my membership is due for renewal...what a waste of $$...since I haven't been...since...I don't even know when!!

But first...its time to hit the shops...hmm...kinda feel guilty since I'm supposed to be saving for my trip...!! Got this joke about taking a loan from my boss since I work in finance and deal with people's loans constantly!! Probably won't be so funny when the time comes for my to actually apply for one...sob!!

To my pangea mates - good luck to the rest of you - hang in there - you're almost done!! Dinner and the LOOONNNGGG walk was great fun...have the best holidays ever and let those brains tick away to new and improved ideas!!

ET - I hope you get your car out in one piece...!! I guess this story kinda deserves a write up - after my exam on Thursday I met ET and we drove into the car park on Elizabeth Street to dump her car whilst she went to the Coke launch and I went to meet my friends...met up later on at around 6:45pm and after kinda dwadling around for a bit, we walked back to the car park only to find that it was LOCKED!! at 7:50pm!! I mean...who locks a public car park so early? sigh...so we took a taxi back to get my car but I kinda left her bag in the back seat...luckily the driver notified us!! He probably thought we 2 little lost asians!! haha what a day!! or rather...what a 20 minutes!! oh oh and hope your a$$ doesn't hurt too much from falling down the stairs at fitness first!! ok ok its not THAT funny...but it kinda is!! hehe

Juz - HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! Hope you enjoyed your supper at automatic - even though you only got an orange and tomato juice - hope you can eat soon and digest solids again! Or are you just pulling my leg?! Hmmm...I can never tell!!

I'm SOOOO free - its great!!

Up, up and away...

Its been one crazy week...farewell party after farewell party after farewell party - food...food...and more food...tears...hugs...tissues...soppy music...

The worlds greatest...

I got home last night after what seemed like an extremely long day…walked though the front door…chucked my bag and books on the floor…walked into the kitchen to the bench…sorted through all the junk mail that had come through and low-and-behold…NOOO…it couldn’t be…a parcel collection card for…ME??!! From whom? Where can I pick it up from? When? What? It arrived on Sunday? But they don’t do postal on Sundays…hmmm…there must be some mistake…

I walked around the house showing mum and dad, trying to figure out what had come for me…its not like I was expecting anything…oh actually…maybe…just maybe…could it be? Ben???

Ben called me at the beginning of last week – Monday – exactly ONE week ago…hmm…asking me about polo sizes…did I want a purple jumper? A yellow polo? Maybe a pink jumper? Can I get on the net?

No! I can’t get on the net!! I’m walkin out the door on my way to uni to hand in an assignment – very tempting but sorry - I’m already late…

Ok…so after messaging back and forth for over half an hour, he wrote me an e-mail the next day saying “Sorry, I didn’t get you anything. The shop was closing in 20 minutes.” I was like what the? 20 minutes? I could have easily bought something in 20 minutes! Haha…but that’s me!

Anyway, I kinda forgot all about it…until last night…when I was trying to figure out what the parcel could be. I mentioned this whole “polo” saga to my mum, who wisely told me “not to get my hopes up”…

…a very LLLOOONNNGGGG and sleepless night….

Well – I just got home from the post office and…..drum roll…the package is from Ben! One look at the envelope and I know!! The writing…the “thanks Mr. Postman”…the parcel written out to “Liz/Jib Ng”…

Ben – you’re the worlds greatest!! You’ve made like my whole week! Still can’t believe you did it – very cool!! Hehe Missing you!!

Why me?

Its 11:49pm…I have an 8am start tomorrow morning…I also have an assignment to finish…or rather start…in the 8 hours and 11 minutes I have left before I have to be in uni…somehow, it doesn’t look like its gonna happen…

This assignment is just…hopeless…I don’t know where to start…and I just don’t feel like doing it…this last run of work has zapped every bit of motivation I had left…I’m running on empty…

And in the morning I’ll be sitting in class…supposedly listening to what the lecturer is talking about…taking notes…nope…that’s not gonna happen…more like I’ll be writing messages, or smsing, or just trying not to jerk too obviously when I start to doze off and then suddenly wake up and snap back into consciousness…

These past few weeks have just been…hectic, busy, tiring, stressful, emotional…to say the least. Theres just been so much to do…and that’s just it…continuously doing things…no time to stop…or even think…its just been go, go, go…or at least it definitely feels like that…assignments to do…tests to study for…work to do…people to listen to…meetings to attend…events to organize…I just feel drained…

And people…I wonder – why is it that the people you’re closest to are also the people that will not only support you, but let you down – the most…they know you – or at least think that they do – speak their mind openly…say what they want, when they want…no hesitations…no stopping…no hindrances…I guess its good in a way coz I know I always say “you need people like that in your life”, and you do…but its always a different story when the tables have turned…when the focus is on me…

I guess I’m just really REALLY looking forward to this mid-sem break – I need it…I want to be able to have time to just sit and admire the rainbow in the sky after the huge storm…to take a walk in the quietness of the country and reflect on the beauty around me…to chat and hang out with friends over great food and strong drinks! I want to enjoy life and live every bit of it to the full…I believe thats the way we were created…

Eenah, thanks for the photos!

Times a passing by...

Time is passing by so quickly…people are getting older…maturing…growing up…

Its amazing…tomorrow is my 5 year re-union…I can’t believe its already been 5 years since I was running around in school…hiding in toilet cubicles to avoid being caught wagging assembly…covering Mr. Squibb’s car in toilet paper…storing oreos and pizza shapes in my locker so that I could steal a quick snack in-between classes to revive the brain…

5 years…it seems like yesterday…

And as I move on…changes not only occur in my life, but in the lives of those around me…

my little cousin just had her year 11 school dinner…I still refer to her as my “little” cousin although truth be told, shes not so “little” anymore!! Its not-so-long-ago that we were talking about the upcoming dinner… complaining about the fact that she couldn’t bring a boy because the school wanted to keep it “in-house”…trying to figure out what she would wear…nails…shoes…hair…and now…its over…just like that…

Steph, I got photos! If you want to know who I got them off, just take a look at the photo…hint hint!! Still need to see yours…hope it was a fantastic night…

P.S. You still need to fill me in on all the juicy details…no escaping THAT easily!!

P.P.S. Aaron you look…FUNKY…SNAZZY…you look the part – too!!

Girls' night out...

OMG its 8:25pm...I've gotta go - its the long-awaited girls' night out...I mean, we've only been planning this for like...FOREVER!! E-mails have been going back and fortth for as long as I can remember about what we're gonna eat, what we're gonna share...mains, desserts...drinks...the list goes on and on!!

Get changed, run down the stairs, slam the door, doot-doot - my car is unlocked, reverse out the driveway - whoa beware of the tree...speed all the way down doncaster road...TGIF here I come...!!

We all meet in the car-park...but NOOO!! You can't be serious...they're closing in half an hour?! What do we do? Should we all go in and order anyway, delaying their closing time by another hour? Or should we just go to PP?

I think deep inside we all knew that eating in half an hour...those buffalo wings...loaded potato skins...chocolate malted turtle...was possible...yet no-one wanted to make the call! Everyone was looking at each other - left, right, directly in-front...someone decide! FINALLY...the call is made - lets go to PP...inside I'm like what the...are you serious? Lets just go in!! But not wanting to seem like the lead "pig", I keep my mouth shut and trudge back to my car...

spirits totally dampened and feeling extremely depressed - hehe seriously this is no exaggeration - I adjourn to pancake parlour...

Its just not the same though - and I know I speak for everyone here!! We order...eat...take photos in front of the mirror - i think that was the highlight of the half hour we were there - talk about other 24 hour places in Donny - decide theres always Maccas - and are outta there in record speed I tell ya!

Mmmmm...the anticipation of trying the latest cajun battered nuggets - so hot that it burns your tongue...can't wait - the battle is on!! We speed to Maccas...re-arrange the lounge chairs as if its our own dining room...and walk up to the counter..."20 cajun nuggets please"...."what? No dipping sauce?"...you've gotta be joking!! How can we eat the nuggets without the sauce? This can't be true...someon pinch me...This is just not our night...

ok...not to worry - after a 2 minute discussion, we decide theres always the Maccas on springvale road!! So off we go - yet again...finally get there after being stopped at 20 red lights...re-arrange the chairs yet again...make ourselves comfortable...and the nuggets arrive!! hip hip hooray! everyone dig in! cheers! spirits rise...jokes seem funnier...hehe...its photos, photos, photos and more photos! After all, we have to remember our "girls' night out!"
